Geothermal Indulgence

Breakfast is delivered to our room daily in the hotel we are at in Taupo. Not a bad way to start the day. Just to keep the trend going this morning we tempted the geothermal area by heading to DeBretts Thermal Spa. The water is supplied by their own geothermal mineral spa which brings water out of the ground at 140* Celcius. They then cool it to five different temperatures for 5 separate outdoor pools and about 15 indoor private spas. First we had a couples massage (no pictures, please), then sampled the various outdoor spas (pictures rated G). I did get hot buns on the one water slide they had just for fun. Finally we all sampled the private indoor spas (PG-13). It was a great morning.
After lunch we visited The Craters of the Moon Thermal Area a kilometer or so from our hotel. It was pretty awesome with bubbling mud pools, hissing fissures, and large steaming craters. We plan to visit other thermal areas tomorrow.
Tonight we have a special plan.
