After Sarnath Cheryl and I walked the gardens of our hotel and then one final trip to a silk brocade factory. It is amazing to see them do this work by hand. One piece takes two people working one loom and months to complete. The owner’s nephew was getting married that night so the band came to the house (also the shop) to escort him to the ceremony. All quite fun for us. A final banquet dinner to say goodbye to our excellent guide, Hemesh, and the people that were not coming to Nepal.
India amazed us in its scope, colors, antiquities, people and its customs. All the stories you may have heard, both good and not so good are there for the taking. We loved our time here and the people and places that we have seen. We learned a lot about the various religions, the government, and the history thanks to our guide. Truely a memorable experience.
