When the Spaniards arrived around 1500 and conquered the Incas, they forced them to move to the valley floor. (Dumb move as the Incas knew that the Urubamba River flooded the valley) and established the town of Pisac. It is now a thriving town with a large native market. The houses are adorned on their roofs with the Inca symbol of 2 bulls and sometimes a cross (Spanish influence). We spent some time in and around the market and then drove the length of the Sacred Valley seeing the sites and had a great lunch at Alhambra Restaurante.
