After breakfast in our courtyard, we set out today to explore the Luberon area of Provence. This includes all of the perched medieval villages and then some. From Bonnieux first hiked the ridge for a bit, then we went to the castle at Luberone and then the market there. Continued to Cavaillon to the synagogue and Jewish museum but both were closed, even though they were listed as being open.
On to Menerbe and then Opede de Vieux, an incredibly beautiful medieval village. Then to Gordes and the Borie village. Stone huts believed to be up to 2,000 years old and built without any masonry. Last stop before dinner was Rousillon, a city built on a hill of Ochre, with an old now abandoned quarry. Incredible and unique colors to the buildings and area.
A little wine and relaxation before dinner, and then a drive up to Lacoste to buy some golf shirts. Only kidding, to view the castle of Count Marate de Sade. Good night all.
