Arrived yesterday in Christmas Cove named by Captain James Cooke when he arrived here on Christmas day. This Cove was also visited by Joshua Slocum on his solo circumnavigation aboard “SPRAY”. Another beautiful small harbor with a sleepy little town. We hiked this morning to the “Gut” a narrow passage between two islands that is one of the most active swing bridges in the world (at high tide it even needs to open for small power boats. The tides here still run about 10′
May take the boats out this afternoon for a sail and a trip trough a narrow passage called “The Thread of Life”. We’ll stay here another night and then move on tomorrow.
