Another spectacular day around Paris. Biked around Versaille and saw just how extreme royal opulence was. All of that gold is real. The gardens were expansive and impressive, but not nearly as pretty as Giverny.
Walking home past Notre Dame on the left bank, we first bought our love lock and fastened it to the Isle St. Louis bridge, kissed, and then tossed the keys into the Seine, a tradition for Paris lovers. Then we happened across a memorial to the French Deportees of WWII. Mostly to the Jews who were rounded up by the Vichy government and detained in Paris and then sent to the camps. This memorial sits on the Seine in the shadow of Notre Dame.
Fantastic dinner recommended by our concierge. Off to Provence tomorrow AM.

Beautiful!!
