4:00AM Wakeup! A Bus to a Train to a Car to a Bus to a Tuk-Tuk and finally a Short Hike to our Tent Camp in a Mughal Palace!

Today was mostly a travel day to the city of Nagaur where there is an annual Camel Fair that is held there only once per year. Our travels took us to the city of Ajmer, and then to Pushkar (home of the only temple to the Hindu to the God Bramha in all of India) where we stopped for lunch and some horse dancing at the Ananta Resort. Finally on to Nagaur where we arrived just after sunset in time to settle into our tents and enjoy cocktails while watching some local dancing and then on to dinner. The sites and sounds of traveling through rural India cannot be described. It is a mass of humanity interspersed with cows, goats, monkeys and pigs who all seem to get right of way on the roads. The roads are in many sections in terrible repair and no one will give way when the road narrows to one lane. The traffic jams and shouting are to say the least “interesting”, but it was all a lot of fun to observe and participate in.
