Through the old entrance to the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (no longer used) to Delaware City, a town that once thrived but lost its footing after the rail road boom and the cutting of a new, wider entrance to the C&D Canal. Its a small cute place with a waterfront esplanade, and the famed Fort Delaware across the river. We took an early morning stroll before the rain and thunder rolled in. There is actually a pub called Lewinsky’s on the main drag which is called Clinton St. Coincidence? Dinner tonight will be at Crabby Dicks, supposedly the best crab cakes and the best bargain in the Delmarva Peninsula.
