After breakfast we took advantage of the free bikes at our Marina to explore Solomons Island. The first stop was the Calvert Maritime Museum. It had wonderful exhibits about local maritime culture, a beautifully restored screw pile lighthouse that sat just off shore until 1975 at Drum Point and also a fascinating exhibit of the ancient maritime fossils that are found in Calvert County on the cliffs along the Chesapeake. We are talking millions of years ago- The Miocene Age of dinosaurs. After that a seaside lunch, ice cream for some, and then more biking along the coast. By dinner time we were all too tired so light fare onboard and then early to bed.

Ice cream was a wise choice!
