One more trip with Sandra to her hometown of Trogir. The entire old city is a UNESCO World heritage site. There are no Roman ruins in the town although we know that there was a presence there. We first had an excellent lunch on the way in an old grist mill. Then entering the island town over a bridge we walked by several churches and palaces until we reached the waterfront promenade. On the beautiful palm tree lined promenade was the Kamerlengo fortress. After a brief stop we entered back into the old town to the court where local jurisprudence of medieval times was explained to us. The final stop on the tour was the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. It was built between the 13th and 15th century with the magnificent Romanesque entrance portal carved by Master Radovan in 1240.
