Passage to Solomons Island, Maryland

With relatively light winds we motorsailed to Solomons Island, a popular spot on the western shore of Maryland. This will most likely be our furthest venture south for the fall. On our way we passed the beautiful Cove Point Lighthouse. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and on arrival we were greeted by a replica of an old 1600’s Chesapeake Bay boat known as a “Bateau” with oars for power and a small sail. Also retractable boards to help with stability in the shallow waters. Dinner on board with the entire crew.
