One Last Clinic

Our last clinic today was in the small village of Manguiwua, about 40 minutes out of Banos. It was by far the dustiest building we have been in. Before we could get started a bit of cleaning and sweeping was in order. We saw about 110 patients with lots of interesting pathology. When all was said and done the final tally for the week had us seeing just under 600 patients, scheduling over 250 cataract surgeries, dispensing  over 200 pair of glasses free, and making other medical and surgical referrals to people who have probably never seen an eye doctor before. Just before packing up for the day, our executive leader, David Guacho gave us a big thank you and some personal gifts to honor our service. It was a good and rewarding week of work.
