If anyone is still following we thought we’d post this. We came home to hurricane preparations for both the house and Enchante’. Got all of the sails and canvas off the boat and then moved it to a safe harbor up the Thames River. We spent Saturday boarding up the house and clearing all furniture and the like off the deck.
Irene was incredible. The pictures don’t really give you the intensity and awesome power of nature. We fared well except for a portion of our breakwater collapsing after being pummeled by a large tree tossed onshore by the storm. The schooner washed ashore was next to our Marina. We’re at a friend’s house now as we don’t have power, but we’re all safe.
