We arrived in Queenstown, NZ this afternoon after a flight from Sydney. Picked up our rental car and we were off to The Fiordlands National Park. It is much larger than Yellowstone and Yosemite combined. It virtually encompasses the entire southwest coast of the South Island.
We will make our home at the base of Lake Te Anau for the next several days as we explore both Milford and Doubtful Sounds and the park. Tomorrow is a 5 hour hike followed by a cruise on Milford Sound. Tonight was dinner at The Ranch Saloon and Cafe. If we didn’t know better, and but for the accents, you could think that you were in the old southwest USA. Cowboy Happy Hour is 9 to 10 PM.
