From the last view of the snow capped mountains of the Himalayas to the snow covered beach and house back home in Connecticut, it has been a long and exciting trip. Remembering back 26 days ago when we first touched down in India to the last picture of Cheryl looking slightly over tired at the airport lounge in Doha on our last leg of the flight home, we have seen amazing and colorful sites, traveled with a wonderful group of people, met many interesting, friendly and gentle people in India and Nepal, touched the basis of Hinduism and Buddhism (and maybe even grasped a slight basic understanding of the Hindu “philosophy” of living) and overall had a wonderful experience. Yes, that is the Nepalese National Flag flag in the picture, the only one in the world that is not rectangular in shape. We discovered the contrasts of the lifestyles between India and Nepal even though both countries have Hindu majorities. There certainly appears to be widely different religious and cultural practices in the two countries. Both countries have hurdles and obstacles to overcome, but what country doesn’t? It has been exhausting but every minute worthwhile.
