Gale warnings on the ocean for two days so we opted to stay in Barnegat. We shopped the local “mall” and I got my first chance this trip to hoist some serious sail. Ate superb clam chowder and tuna tacos as we strolled around the small village of Barnegat Light. Later in the day we met Bill and Joanne, a lovely couple who live next to the marina and keep their boat there as well. They were kind enough to drive us to a restaurant for dinner and also show us their house and some of their antique cars. On day two we went with them for a stroll along the beach to the inlet breakwater and then to the lighthouse park. They could not have been nicer.
Tonight Cheryl and Sue are cooking an Italian fest dinner for all of us. With a bit of luck we will make progress tomorrow to Staten Island.
