This UNESCO World Heritage City is a shining gem, and also where a lot of people go to party. The town’s history and wealth is attributed to trade in sugar came and slavery. Our afternoon stroll included the cobblestone streets of the old city where we visited well preserved Spanish Colonial mansions, several squares, and artist studios. Specifically we visited the studios of Jorge Cesar Sa’enz, Atner Caldalso, and Carlos Cesar Romano. Dinner was right next door to our B&B, and owned by the Innkeepers son ( who happens to live in Miami). The restaurant was called San Jose’ and was probably our best meal in Cuba. Don’t miss it. After dinner back to Casa de la Musica to work off the extra pounds and enjoy the music and the scene.
