We left the islands of Casco Bay for our short trip to Portland. They have done a great job with rehabilitation of the Old Port area. Upon arrival we walked around the old port area (now touristy) and the first thing that we came across was a Wall of Honor of those who have died for our country. I actually came across a young man named Elwin. The architecture is mostly Federal and the original Customs house (picture included) was quite nice.

Before dinner we came back to our boats to freshen up and relax. We had a phenomenal dinner at Cinque Terra, northern Italian, and Cheryl’s lobster Rissotto was out of this world. Looking like a day of rain showers tomorrow so we’re planning on visiting the Portland Museum of Art. After the weather clears it will be south to the Isle of Shoals, a group of small islands several miles off the coast of Portsmouth, NH.

BTW – We have included a picture of a “driftwood Tree” with lobster pots as flowers from Eagle Island.
