Before departing for Detroit on Saturday morning Cheryl and I decided to go for a day sail on Enchante’ today. Little did we know that The a Great Chesapeake Schooner Race from Annapolis to Hampton, VA was on tap for today. Large schooners and other multi masted sailboats from all over the east coast enter this race. There were 35 boats in all including The Brilliant from our own Mystic Seaport, and The Mystic Whaler whose home port is New London, CT. The Pride of Baltimore was out in the front pack as she passed us with a full set of sails in a 15 – 17 knot breeze. A beautiful sight for sure and a wonderful sail for us. After our sail and some laundry detail we had $0.25 oysters (as many as you like) and Cheryl then had a Maine lobster for only $16 at our Marina restaurant, Mango’s. Perhaps a movie from Amazon Prime tonight on board.
