Roaming Rovinj

A fishing town on the Istrian peninsula is now a popular vacation and tourist destination. We began our morning at Tito Square at the harbor and then entered the old city through the Albion Arch. We meandered up the old Roman Grisia Street past very old houses to reach the St. Ephemia Cathedral. There we found beautiful views of the Adriatic. Back down past a lighthouse and WW II pillbox to the market and Yugoslav Era monument. Looking back at the old town you could see how the medieval fishermen’s houses were built right into the outer wall of the city.
